Abstract

Forgiveness is an obligation that must be carried out in the naketi rite in East Amanuban. However, the meaning of forgiveness in the naketi rite has not been implemented optimally so that people do not understand correctly what should be done in giving forgiveness and interpreting forgiveness in accordance with God's will. Therefore, in this writing the meaning of forgiveness in the naketi rite in East Amanuban will be explained. This type of research is qualitative research, a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques are by way of observation, interviews and documentation and documents. The results of the writing found that the main purpose of the naketi rite is to reflect on oneself, correct mistakes made and reconcile oneself with others and God as a form of relationship restoration. The meaning of forgiveness in the naketi rite must be marked by peace within oneself, others and God as creator. Forgiving means reflecting on the mistakes you have made, forgiving the mistakes you have made without bitterness within yourself and being able to apply the forgiveness given by Jesus Christ as a form of thanksgiving for the grace received without demanding anything in return.
