This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence changes in the pastoral vocation commitment of theology students. Employing a descriptive quantitative method, data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to 31 theology students of Star’s Lub Theological College. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to obtain mean values across seven indicators. The findings show that faith conviction and family support had the highest scores, while spiritual experience and the influence of the church environment were comparatively lower. Some students expressed doubts about becoming pastors, suggesting cognitive dissonance between vocational ideals and the practical realities of ministry. It is concluded that vocational commitment is shaped by the integration of personal faith, emotional maturity, and supportive social contexts. The study recommends that theological institutions strengthen reflective spiritual formation and contextual mentoring programs to sustain students’ ministry commitment.
2025-11-06T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Delpianti Batolu, Junni Yokiman, Oskar Sopang https://ejournal.iaknkupang.ac.id/ojs/index.php/apos/article/view/715 Peranan Seorang Ayah: Kajian Teologis Penyebab Gagalnya Imam Eli Sebagai Seorang Ayah Dan Implikasinya Dalam Keluarga Kristen Kontemporer 2025-11-03T15:41:55+08:00 Devi ddelpiana160@gmail.com Yefta Noval yeftanoval24@gmail.com

This study is motivated by the widespread misconception among fathers that their role is limited to providing for the family’s material needs, while responsibilities related to child-rearing are solely the mother’s duty. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the causes of the failure of Priest Eli in fulfilling his role as a father and its implications for contemporary Christian families. To achieve this objective, the researcher employs a qualitative research method with data collection techniques consisting of field research and literature study, as well as data analysis through data reduction and interpretation. The findings reveal that Priest Eli’s failure stemmed from his lack of understanding regarding his duties and responsibilities as a father. This reality is also evident in many contemporary Christian families, where some fathers still do not fully comprehend their roles. As a result, many children seek pleasure and fulfillment outside the home, engaging in behaviors such as alcohol abuse, fighting, underage marriage, and even drifting away from God and ceasing to participate in fellowship.

2025-11-11T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Devi, Yefta Noval https://ejournal.iaknkupang.ac.id/ojs/index.php/apos/article/view/562 Teologi Sosial di Era Digital: Menjembatani Iman dan Keadilan di Dunia yang Terhubung 2025-11-03T15:45:21+08:00 Vinsensius Yesra Bontong yesraapril1720@gmail.com
This research examines how social theology can serve as a bridge between faith and justice in the context of Indonesia's digital society. The digital era has fundamentally changed how humans interact and has impacted the religious dimension of society, posing new challenges for social theology to formulate understandings relevant to the contemporary context. This research employs a qualitative approach with literature study methods and interpretive analysis of sources on social theology, digital technology development, and religious practices in digital spaces. Data was analyzed using a critical hermeneutic approach to develop theoretical propositions about social theology in the digital era. Social theology in the digital era faces challenges including the digital divide, post-truth phenomena, radicalization through social media, commercialization of religion, and the impact of automation on employment structures. The research identifies five key areas for social theology development: information dissemination and education, wise use of technology, bridging faith and justice, transformation of religious organizations' roles, and addressing the digital divide as a theological imperative. Social theology in the digital era requires fundamental reconceptualization regarding religious authority, community, and devotional practices. Development of digital-theological literacy, "hybrid ecclesiology" models, theological responses to the digital divide, and institutional transformation of religious organizations are needed to keep social theology relevant as a transformative force in digital society.
2025-11-20T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Vinsensius Yesra Bontong
