Peerreview Process
The editorial and peer-review procedure of Ra’ah Journal is designed to ensure academic rigor, transparency, and integrity. Every submitted manuscript undergoes a structured evaluation process as follows:
1. Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, the Editorial Team conducts a preliminary assessment. At this stage, the manuscript is evaluated in terms of compliance with the journal template, adherence to formatting requirements, results of the similarity check, and its substantive scholarly potential. Based on this screening, the Editorial Team determines whether the manuscript proceeds to peer review or is declined.
2. Anonymization and Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are anonymized to remove all identifying information. The manuscript is then sent to expert reviewers under a double-blind review system, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to maintain objectivity and fairness.
3. Reviewer Evaluation and Recommendation
Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of argumentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Based on their evaluation, they provide one of the following recommendations: reject, resubmit for review, or revise (minor or major revisions).
4. Author Revision and Response
If revisions are required, authors must address each reviewer comment systematically. Revisions must be accompanied by a detailed response-to-reviewers document, explaining how each comment has been considered and incorporated into the revised manuscript.
5. Final Editorial Decision
After the revised manuscript is submitted, the Editorial Team evaluates the extent and quality of the revisions. The editor makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection. Manuscripts may still be declined at this stage if revisions are deemed insufficient or do not adequately address reviewer feedback.
6. Layout and Final Similarity Check
Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting and layout stage. Authors are given the opportunity to review the formatted version and provide necessary corrections. A final similarity report is generated and made available to the author through the journal system.
7. Publication
Once all stages are successfully completed, the manuscript is scheduled for publication in the forthcoming issue of Ra’ah Journal.
