ANALISIS BENTUK MUSIK DAN NILAI KARAKTER RELIGIUS DALAM KIDUNG JEMAAT NO. 462 “TOLONG AKU, TUHAN” KARYA HANS PULS

Music analysis is an important part of the study of music and the development of musical abilities. The author suggests that every music educator include analytical activities into every music course, especially those related to the theoretical realm. Because by exploring the potential for analyzing music, musical intellectual capacity will continue to develop. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, namely by describing data in the form of the musical structure and lyrics of the song KJ No. 462 "Help Me, God" by Hans Puls. This song is a song with a 4/4 time signature and consists of 8 bars and contains 4 verses. This song starts on the first beat. In congregational hymns, there is no tempo in the notation of this song, but usually this song is sung rather quickly and cheerfully or at an allegretto tempo (108-116 MM). This song is a one-part song. Based on the description of religious character values contained in Song of the Congregation No. 462 "Help Me, God", it can be concluded that this hymn by Hans Puls expresses, instills and teaches the values of the Christian faith which originate from the life and teachings of the Lord Jesus, but also contains the truth of the holy books. In this way, these songs can be an effective medium or forum for internalizing religious character values.
