Abstract

The Lego-lego dance is one of the traditional artistic expressions and cultural identity of the Alor people which symbolizes unity, fellowship and togetherness so that it needs to be inherited, maintained, cared for and developed. However, in today's increasingly modern world, the Lego-lego dance is now less and less attractive to the people of Alor because many people still do not know the meanings contained in the Lego-lego dance. It also causes a lot of divisions, problems and fights that often occur in people's lives. Through this research, researchers explore the important meanings contained in the Lego-lego dance as a medium of social integration that can unite people in the problems and fights that often occur. Every element in the Lego-lego dance such as dance, music (singing and accompaniment) and the attributes used by the community in presenting the Lego-lego dance has a meaning of unity. When people know the important meaning contained in the Lego-lego dance and continue to perform and pass on the Lego-lego dance, a sense of solidarity, unity, oneness and togetherness will always be present in people's lives. This can build and protect the hometown of the Alor people from various problems or social conflicts that occur in social life.
