Abstract

This study examines waditra Jungga in the Kambera community, East Sumba district, Nusa Tenggara, East. Ethnomusicology is the theoretical basis for this research. The results showed that Jungga is a traditional musical instrument from East Sumba which is played by picking. Jungga in Sumba there are several kinds, namely two-stringed, four-stringed and six-stringed. On the six strings, the double string pattern 'every double string'. Musical instruments as well as East Sumba were first entered in the Kambera District area. Jungga is a musical instrument that is inherent in the Sumbanese culture, namely the marapu, so it is culti- vated both from its manufacture to the way, time and place to play it. The cultural representation of the Sumbanese people is also depicted in the song's lyric accompanied by jungga. One example of your harvest work song Anda Mara 'the right way' depicts the indigenous culture of merapu in the song and accompaniment of waditra jungga. The indigenous community of the Sumbanese ethnic group on the island of Sumba, known as the Marapu belief, is spread throughout the island of Sumba.
