This research uses a qualitative content analysis approach. The data collection technique is done by reviewing books and journal articles related to the topic discussed. The data analysis technique was carried out with qualitative content analysis as the main method with an interpretative exegetical approach to 1 Thessalonians 5:14. There are denotations and connotations contained in 1 Thessalonians 5:14 that emphasize the importance of advising the less fortunate, strengthening the fainthearted, and being patient with all people. The author concludes that the teaching of "exhorting" in the letter is not only related to giving advice but also contains a broader meaning, namely helping and strengthening each other in faith and daily life. The contribution that can be made to the reader is to gain an understanding of the teaching principles based on the Christian faith, especially in the context of the relationship between the servant of God and his congregation, and to provide inspiration and guidance in developing sensitivity and empathy for others and applying the teaching principles contained in the letter 1 Thessalonians 5:14.
